Minyi Zhang's "Oshare House": A Nostalgic Nook of Elegance

Winning Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award 2021

Minyi Zhang's design inspiration for Oshare House came from the lobbies of old European residences. The elegant mottled green marble, the melancholic and nostalgic green wall paint, the bronzed letterbox, and the small elevator with the period color all contributed to the unique aesthetic of the salon. The design aims to provide customers with a comfortable, clean, and leisurely space for physical examination.

What sets Oshare House apart from other designs is its pursuit of aesthetics while managing relatively small live spaces. Zhang combined European cultural characteristics to create "small and delicate" spaces. The selection of materials for the boutique includes warm elements, fine woods, marble, and precious metals, all evoking an atmosphere of tangible and sophisticated elegance that reflects the aesthetics of Oshare’s collections.

The project, completed in October 2019, covers a floor area of 70 sqm. The design process involved studying the minimum reasonable and comfortable range of hairdressers and reasonable customer walking routes. The challenge was to arrange all functional areas, including the front desk, 10 haircuts, 2 VIP Spaces, shampoo area, warehouse, an existing steep staircase, and a new small vertical elevator, within a limited space.

Zhang's design has been recognized with the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
